Joint STF and district police operation uncovers concealed narcotics in vehicle at Amingaon
In a coordinated anti-drug operation, Assam Police seized heroin valued at approximately ₹3 crore in Kamrup district and arrested two individuals from Manipur. The कार्रवाई took place at Amingaon following specific intelligence inputs, officials said on Tuesday.
The operation was carried out jointly by the Special Task Force (STF) and Kamrup Police.

Authorities intercepted a Maruti Ertiga during a targeted late-night operation and discovered a concealed cache of heroin hidden inside the vehicle’s door panels. A total of 25 soap cases containing around 350 grams of heroin were recovered.
Police identified the accused as Lamminthang Haokip (29) and Gingkholal Haokip (31), both residents of Churachandpur district in Manipur. Officials estimate the market value of the seized narcotics at around ₹3 crore.
