Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah paid tribute to former Defence Minister and former Chief Minister of Goa Manohar Parrikar on his punyatithi (death anniversary), remembering him as a dedicated nationalist leader and a humble public servant.
In a message shared on the social media platform X, Shah recalled Parrikar’s contributions to the nation and his enduring legacy in public life.
Amit Shah wrote on X:
“Tributes to Manohar Parrikar Ji on his punyatithi. A staunch nationalist and a humble person at heart, Parrikar Ji’s life and contributions to the nation will always be remembered. His legacy as a people’s leader will continue to inspire generations.”
Manohar Parrikar, known for his simple lifestyle and administrative acumen, served as India’s Defence Minister from 2014 to 2017 and as Chief Minister of Goa for multiple terms. Widely respected across political lines, he played a key role in strengthening India’s defence preparedness and governance in Goa.
